I have three paragraphs of chapter 1 written in Crossfire. I plan on making a book trailer for Soul Stealer but only have one image for the book trailer so far. I finished the first chapter of Out of the Ashes and haven't started the second chapter yet. Insha Allah Out of the Ashes will be as suspensful and good as Locked In. I haven't really worked on any of my other books that are "in progress" yet. Been reading Robinson Crusoe lately which lately which is taking up my spare time when I'm not attending to religious duties or watching television which is rare.

The title for the sequel to Locked In will be Out of the Ashes. I have slowly been working on that. I also am beginning to work on Crossfire which is the sequel to Broken Borders. Once I get to my husband's country I will begin extensive research, planning and writing of Fire Spirits Trilogy: Battleground of Fire so due to that sequence of events I have moved it down to the bottom of my In Progress page on Silent Lair. I'm enjoying working on Out of the Ashes. The synopsis is on my In Progress page for that and I moved it up to the top since that is the book I am concentrating on for the moment.

I sent an e-mail to Llumina to see how to go about getting their permission to translate Locked In into Arabic, possibly Turkish and possibly German. If that happens I will have 3 copies available left to give away. My husband is going to see about finding someone in Turkey to translate it into Turkish and I will try to see if my second replier to my 'contest' can find someone to translate it into German.

The printer has their own steps to take but my file were sent to the printing press. They have their own timeline on how to get things done so I won't be able to check on the progress of my 10 free author copies being printed for two weeks. They are going to check the files to make sure they meet all the specs for print. Once the file is approved then it will be printed and shipped to me.

I have great news! Locked In has been released to the public! It will take a few weeks to show up on the websites for purchase though. Repeatedly check Llumina and Amazon for information on Locked In. For Amazon just type in 'ayisha blevins' into the search bar and it will come up with Silent Stalker and Locked In. You may also need to do this for Locked In on Llumina but when I find the direct buying link for Locked In on Llumina I will update this blog with the purchase link.

I paid the $50.00 fee for the revision of Locked In and sent them the corrections by e-mail. I assume they are working on it as I haven't received an e-mail from them about it. It will hopefully be published sometime this month Insha Allah. I am slowly working on Little Muslim-A New Mother and hope to begin working on Journey to Antarctica next month.

I am able to revise Locked In but I have to pay a fee for it. I e-mailed the woman who accepted Locked In and Broken Borders for publication and asked about how much the fee is and if it is possible to pay the fee in installments. Once I fix the revisions I'll e-mail them, pay the fee and receive another PDF file. I'll read through the corrections and check them with the papers I'm writing the corrections on and once the file is approved I will get my 10 free author copies.

After reading a bit through Locked In that I recieved in the mail I realized there are some mistakes I did not catch. It is too late to change anything now as I approved the final copy. Sorry for that and for my few mistakes in Silent Stalker.
Saturday, September 24, 2011
I recieved my final proof of Locked In today in the mail. It looks fine. I'll be e-mailing the production assistant to see when I'll be getting my ten author copies and then have a contest on my website to win two free autographed copies.

Title: Locked In
Author: Ayisha Blevins
Publisher: Llumina Press
ISBN #: 978-1-60574-786-0
Size: 5.50 x 8.50
Book Format: Paperback
Synopsis: It is not life that binds us to this Earth but Allah. It is not death that takes us but Allah. To all of our sufferings and joys comes hope from Allah. But to be able to hear the word of Allah is something many will never hear because they are too blinded by the world's charm and too deaf except to their own lusts." The war on Islam has taken a new turn. Before, it was only spying and mistrust. Now, innocent Muslims are hunted everywhere by a secret society that is manipulating world politics. They have already ordered a few countries to take care of the growing "Muslim problem." Muslims are rounded up and thrown into camps around the world, and now it is America's turn. All American-born and American-converted Muslims are forced into relocation camps unless they reounce Islam: Parasa and her four children are taken from their home and locked away. Her citizenship revoked, her name taken from her, she is designated Prisoner 135908Q. She and the others in the camp are treated like animals and must practice Islam in secret. With help from a compassionate soldier, some prisoners manage to flee to the mountains and set up a community there, but the war has just begun. Now on the run will these courageous people be silenced forever? A suspenseful, action-packed warning of what happens when humanity gives in to its worst instincts and strips the human rights of a people deemed a "threat" to normal society.

I received an e-mail from my productionist. Locked In cover I sent cannot be used so they are going to make a different cover for it which upsets me. Everything seems to be going wrong with my book. No e-mail from the Mooz-lum director so I am going to give up and hope someone will pick up Locked In when it is published. It upsets me though that I didn't even get a flipping e-mail. I had to e-mail production publisher back because stupid person did not send me 2nd PDF file of Locked In to look over.

Went through Locked In last night and did some corrections. Sent it back to the publisher for a third time. Production agent said she fixed the 'e' on every other page with Locked In it so that made me happy. Deactivated my OneTrueMedia account but will get that back on active later. I use OneTrueMedia to make my book trailers.
Friday, August 12, 2011
I got my final proof for Locked In. On top of every other page where it has "Locked In", the 'e' is missing from Locked In. It is annoying me and I am not approving the PDF until they fix it. I'm not sure how they are missing that but everything else seems fine. They did all my edits for me. I can't use the cover for Broken Borders because it is too small so there's going to be a blank page before the excerpt for Broken Borders.
Monday, August 8, 2011
I received the physical cover for Broken Borders and fixed a small mistake I caught in Locked In and resent those to my publication producer. Now it should go into the rest of the editing and my publication producer said she should be able to format the book and have it to me by the end of this week Insha Allah.

Memories of a Fallen Soldier
As twilight emerges
From the brink of dawn
I sit here so silent
Humming an old war song.
My family is gone
And I am dead,
Pale and silent as the wind.
I sigh with empathy
And watch the people down below,
I wonder if I'll be in Heaven
Or Hell in years to come.
I still see the men falling
Hear the general's cry
And see the bullets whizzing through the air.
I taste the brittle bread
And taste the sweet water
But I long for tobacco to chew
I long for my family anew.

Locked In will take six to eight weeks for me to get the proof from the production department. Then another six weeks for the cover. Between September 9th to September 17th 2011 I'll get my proof for Locked In. Altogether it will take 12-14 weeks for Locked In to be in my hands and available for purchase.

From chapter seven: A Friend
There was a knock on the door. I glanced up and tried to wipe the dirt off my Jilbab before going answering. A lot had happened during the last seven weeks of their imprisonment. The camp had filled up with more Muslims so now there were two families to a house. Every couple of days there was a new shipment of ‘traitors’. My eyes had taken on the haunted look of so many other prisoners. Without our American citizenship, my family and the few hundred other Muslim families in the camp were subjected to unspeakable treatment. They were treated worse than dogs.
“Hello?” I asked as I opened the door. There was no one there. Puzzled I began to shut the door when a foot shot out of the darkness and blocked the door from swinging shut.
“Let me in.” A husky voice said. “I’m a friend.”
“Private Collins?” I asked.
“Yes it’s me. Please let me in before we are caught.”
I hesitated and then pulled the door open wider, allowing Private Collins to enter. The other family was sleeping along with their children. The two women took turns sweeping the dirt from their sleeping areas. Each family had a small space against a wall.
“As you should know, I’m not allowed to be around men who are not related to me.”
“Well I forced you to open the door didn’t I?” He held up a small flashlight and shined it around the room. He sighed and shook his head at the sight. “It’s horrible what my country, my government, is doing to the Muslims. Anyway I know who is behind the attacks on Muslims.”

Locked In is finally being published! The people at Llumina have to remake the cover with higher resolution images as the image I sent them was too small. Just checked my e-mail on my cell phone and got the confirmation so I'm thrilled! Look for it in twelve weeks on Amazon and Llumina.
Saturday, July 16, 2011
I finally received an e-mail from my editor concerning Locked In. I then downloaded the changed copy and sent it and my cover to my publisher and explained there were some sentences that couldn't be changed due to how Muslims say them, such as "Peace be upon you." Hopefully the people at Llumina will publish Locked In now that I explained to them some sentences can't be changed due to how Muslims use them.

I am currently in the process of planning out Forbidden Love, Crossfire, and Soul Stealer. Crossfire is an upcoming book I have planned which is the sequel to my novel Broken Borders and continues the story of Antonio, Jessie, and Antonio's family that readers were introduced to in Broken Borders. I have yet to begin research for my children's book Journey to Antarctica and am currently writing the fourth book in the Little Muslim series which is A New Mother. Once I get Silent Stalker with me I will post an excerpt of it on here for my readers.

People never understood the problems Edgar Allen Poe was going through. His stories and poems may have been odd and on the dark side a little bit but that’s what made him such a good author. It’s also why I like him so much. As for me my poems are pretty deep and usually from experience, which is what makes them good. It makes the reader feel everything as they read it whether it be fear or joy. That’s how a writer gets their money.

My name is Ayisha Blevins. I am the author of Silent Stalker. I published Silent Stalker on March 19, 2007 after taking 2 1/2 years to write the book. It is a book of poetry and is 88 pages long. I published it via Publish America and you can buy it on http://www.publishamerica.com/ or http://www.amazon.com/. There are some grammatical errors in the book that I didn't catch before publication. I first began really writing at twelve years old as a way to escape the abuse and bullying I suffered as a child, though I wrote my first book, Deer and The Tiger which is a children's story, at nine years old. I specialize in Poetry, Fiction, Children, and Mystery Genres. My website is http://www.silentlair.net/ where I market my books. Many of my books deal with insight into the Muslim culture and most of my poetry is free verse as I'm not very good at rhyming or Haiku. My poetry reflects the childhood I went through and is pretty deep. Two of my favorite authors are Edgar Allen Poe and is Charles Dickens.
